Stella Aryan
Stella Aryan’s love for dance blossomed at the age of 12 in her childhood dance class at Rainbow Express in Norco, California. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Dance in 2008. She has trained with Bernard Gaddis, Charmaine Hunter, Dede Barfield, Minh Tran, Lawrence Jackson, Jay Franke, Karola Luttringhaus, Gail Gilbert, Mark Dendy, the Paul Taylor Dance Company, and the talented Dance faculty at UNLV. Stella has been a part of the Riverside Community College Dance Department since 2008.
Roya Carreras
Roya Carreras trained at the Alvin Ailey School in NYC from 2005-2007 before attending Riverside City College and then completing her BA in Dance at UC Irvine in 2011. She apprenticed with Lux Boreal Danza Contemporanea and danced as a guest artist with Malashock Dance in San Diego. She has also performed with California Riverside Ballet, taught modern technique at Pasadena Dance Theater and ballet at private studios. She has choreographed for and performed in several short dance films directed by Phillip Lopez, and recently attended Spring Board Danse Montreal where she worked with Danielle Russo of The Danielle Russo Dance Company and Gustavo Ramirez Sanso, artistic director of Luna Negra Dance theater. Ms. Carreras is currently an apprentice for Body Traffic, Los Angeles and this is her second year as a guest artist with Intersect Dance Theatre.
Megan Fowler-Hurst
Megan Fowler-Hurst began her dance habit at the early age of five. She has been involved with the Riverside City College Dance Department since 2008 and is currently pursuing her BA in Dance. In 2011 she had the opportunity to perform with Lux Boreal Danza Contemporanea and share her work at RCC’s student concert, Celebrate Dance. Megan was chosen by the RCC faculty to show her piece, entitled ‘You’, at the American College Dance Festival 2012 where her piece was selected to be shown at the Gala. This summer Megan collaborated with her mentor and RCC Dance Department chair, Mark Haines, on a music video, directed by Bridget Palardy, in which she co-choreographed and was a featured dancer. Mrs. Fowler-Hurst performed in Trolley Dances Riverside 2012. She has trained with Sue Roginski, Stephanie Gilliland, Sofia Carreras, Holly Johnston and Julie Freeman. She continues to share work and perform locally and throughout Southern California.
CJ Logel
C.J. Logel received a BA in Dance from the University of California, Riverside in 2011. Since graduation he has been an active member of the dance community in Riverside County. He was invited to be a guest instructor for the P.L.A.C.E. Performance summer workshop and was selected to perform in the inaugural Trolley Dances Riverside 2012. He is currently dancing with Sue Roginski and Intersect Dance Theatre.
Alicia Slaughter
Alicia Slaughter began her dance training at Riverside Ballet Arts at age 5. Her focus was classical ballet, and at age 11 she continued into pre-professional training. She has studied with Ballet Pacifica, BalletMet, Joffrey Ballet, Harvard Dance, and Boston Ballet. In addition to dance, Alicia has studied philosophy at Wellesley College, and is currently studying astronomy at Riverside Community College. She is excited to dance her third season with Intersect Dance Theatre.
Tracy Tom-Hoon
Tracy started dancing and ice skating at the age of five. She pursued competitive ice skating with her brother, Christopher Tom-Hoon, and performed in several competitions, including the Junior Nationals. In dance, she has performed for Riverside City College faculty concerts, Kinetic Conversations, and choreographed for RCC’s student concerts, Celebrate Dance and Summer Showcase. She has also performed in Blue Moose, with Kirsten Johansen in New York, and in LA at the Henry Fonda Theater.
